Frequently asked questions

What do KS1 children need to learn as part of the music curriculum?
KS1 children must use their voices expressively by singing songs, speaking chants and rhymes, and experimenting with different ways to create sounds. They're required to play tuned and untuned instruments musically, learning basic control and exploring how to combine sounds together. Finally, they must listen with concentration to a range of high-quality music, and experiment with creating, selecting and combining sounds using voices and instruments.
Who creates the resources?
All our primary school resources are brought to you by Rocksteady’s Education Team who have decades of experience teaching in primary schools and developing progressive ways to bring music to life for children. Their award-winning child-centred approach to music education balances fun and progression, creating a level playing field for all children of all abilities.
Are the resources suitable for SEND pupils?

All our services, including our free resources, are suitable for all pupils in mainstream education, including those with SEND and SEMH.

Do I have to be a Rocksteady school to get access?
